Seed Compost

Q: Seed Compost

Would you mind giving me a recipe for making a good seed compost?

A:

I would recommend that you buy a good organically approved seed compost.  There are two excellent brands available: KKS Klassman (available from Fruit Hill Farm) and Living Green (available in most good garden centres).  Both are ideal for sowing seeds into modular trays.

If you make your own seed compost you may get problems of diseases and weeds and often the compost will be too rich for seed sowing.
