Description
Purple Rain is an early maincrop variety with purple skin and flesh. Unlike other coloured potatoes, these retain the purple colour even after cooking. The tubers are long, oval and firm and are ideal for steaming, boiling, mashing and delicious in a purple potato salad.
Plant outdoors from early to mid April and harvest late August to October. These will also store for a couple of months.
Spacing:
30cm in drill (drills widely spaced so you can earth up – around 75cm).
