Potato – Carolus (maincrop)

Carolus is one of the most popular potato varieties with excellent blight resistance. It was bred in the Netherlands specifically for blight resistance and suitability for organic cultivation. It has smooth-skinned yellow skin with pink/red eyes and pale yellow flesh. The potatoes have a floury texture and should be ideal for the Irish taste. The yield is very high and tubers store extremely well. It is suitable for baking, chipping, mashing and roasting.

Carolus potatoes can be planted in mid April and harvest starts in September/October. Potatoes store well into April.
